These are my very rough floor plans of my idea for the tea house the idea is to have glass walls on 3 sides and a wooden wall on the other. The glass is sliding so that it allows for entry and the ability to full open to enjoy the outside or close and covered with curtains so it can give a more intimate feel.
These are some of the ideas for the glass look and the idea that I am going for in the interior picture instead of the low sitting area I would like to elevate it to a normal height table.
These tea sets were the preliminary idea for my own tea set idea. I was interseted in the glass and metal look as well as the odd non traditional shape of the brush metal picture but wanted a more geometric look.
Although the tea house is to be set in Italy during a fall evening I felt that something needed to be different. If you told a person to think of Italy they would probably picture in their mind a scene like the one shown in the picture below.
Although very nice and true to Italy I did not feel that was the direction I wanted to go in developing the tea house after playing with a few designs, the one featured in this blog is what I feel a more modern look of what could be, and with no disrespect to history and good architecture; I did not want to go with the traditional old Italian look. I feel that ideas and creativity are locked away when you stick to and add on to architecture that already exist, and although there is some room for originality I don't think it's enough to really work with and evolution of design does not move along so I deviated from the path a bit in my design.
The 2 pictures above are similar to my thoughts of a modern design. Although I am only creating a tea house and not an actual home I hope that my ideas are expressed in the design I create and leaves a door open for more concepts in the future.
